KRGS Doors recently completed a series of new shops at Terminal 2, Sydney Domestic Airport. Working at the airport is quote a complex job, with certain delivery curfews in place meaning truck deliveries by our team at 11:30pm and all doors and tools x-rayed and bomb swiped before going on site…. The new stores of Amcal Chemist, Relay, Blue Illusion, Newslink, Kaboom, Lego and a refurb of Three Chocolatiers. All stores were fitted with the KRGS Folding Closure and tailored with powder coating finishes and curved head tracks to suit the brand requirements. Working with these doors comply with OH&S concerns and with no floor track - no trip hazard. Working with the shopfitters KRGS Doors come up with a suitable product which satisfied the architects, designers and Sydney Airport. The Lego one was quite interesting when the designer wanted each panel to be a different shade purple to pink, realising this wasn’t cost effective the settled for Dulux Intensity Moonlight. Not all stores were new builds, Three Chocolatiers needed air flow in their existing door, KRGS rebuilt the door removing the solid clear polycarbonate infill and replaced with a mesh infill to allow 51% airflow.

KRGS Doors shortly to start work on REVY Apartments at Pyrmont, The Royal Edward Victualling Yard (Revy) project, is the adaptive reuse of an eight level, heritage listed building into 44 luxury apartments with communal roof garden. The works also include the construction of a three level basement carpark, new external lifts cores, a roof top communal space and extensive public domain works. Being heritage listed this can sometime be a challenge, but working with the Architect and builder KRGS' team of experts overcome any hurdles that were raised. KRGS Doors are proud to announce they are now a preferred supplier for the Coles Group for Roller Shutters and folding closures. Our doors can be seen on the store Shop fronts, loading docks, Coles Express Petrol Stations and internal storage areas such as bin rooms. On 9 April 1914, G.J. Coles opened the first Coles store in Smith Street, Collingwood, Victoria. On the day of opening, the window displays promised: 'Nothing over 1/-.' The first day's sales were a good indication of things to come and after ten days of trading takings stood at 935 pounds, 4 shillings and 1 penny.
